Casey Durand is a digital artist and performer based in Portland, Oregon. Using motion-capture, real-time computer graphics, and machine-learning, Casey creates visceral digital experiences, bringing deeply human experiences of pain, longing, and desire to mediums perceived as cold and calculated.
Her work is equal parts performance and research. Delving deep into the dark and unsavory corners of online culture, she brings to light challenging conversations around the the proliferation of violent images, trans-ness and the uncanny valley, exploitative tech policy, and the nature of interpersonal relationships within modern techno-capitalism.
